We are interested in uncovering the cognitive and neural mechanisms of the human attention system and its interaction with other cognitive functions and physiological states, both inside the lab and out in the real world.
Our research is split into three themes:
Cognitive Priority Control
Goal: To understand how we attend, the limits of our attention, and how attention interacts with other cognitive functions.
Global States
Goal: To understand how global behavioral states influence the coding of information during perceptual and cognitive tasks.
Brain & Cognition in the Wild
Goal: To understand cognition and brain function in real-world tasks and activities executed outside the lab.
